Dear Members of The Collective,

"We will only get through this together."

This phrase echoed in my mind repeatedly in the days following the 2016 election. As someone who has never lived through the horrors of Jim Crow, I have nonetheless felt its reverberations through the stories of my grandparents and parents, both of whom attended segregated schools in Maryland. I never imagined that I might witness a resurgence of its ideologies in my lifetime. In the face of such a reality, I knew that community would be our path not only to survival but to thriving—even in the midst of a Trump Administration.
